TUBE RENTALS

 

  • Fun & Affordable Family Activity 

Located on the banks of the Dan River and the heart of Danbury, adjacent to Moratock Park, and only 3 miles from Hanging Rock State Park, the Danbury General Store provides the perfect location for a summer family adventure.

Tubing season runs from late May through mid-September, weather permitting.  Tubing is available ONLY on weekends and holidays, from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, OR: Monday - Friday by appointment ONLY!!  and depends on water levels!!.

 2009 Service/Rates

  • Tube & Shuttle.... $ 9.00 each
  • Tube only*........ $ 7.00 each
  • Tube for Cooler....... $ 5.00 each
  • Shuttle only...... $ 5.00 each
  • Canoe/kayak shuttle..... $ 10.00 (locally)

    Life vests - no charge with tube rental

    "If a PFD (life vest) is lost or damaged, there will be a replacement charge of $10.00".
    * $ 20.00 deposit per tube

    "NC Statute 15A NCAC 10F.0201 requires a PFD or life vest for each person on a vessel (tube); & requires all persons under the age of 13 to wear a PFD".

Features: 

  • A Great Way to Relax & Keep Cool !

  • Showers/changing area available

  • Tubing trip lengths of approximately 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 hours, however, actual trip time varies depending on the river water level

  • Food and beverages are allowed on the river. However, styrofoam and glass containers are strongly discouraged!!

  • Shoes are recommended.

Shuttle Service:

  • available ONLY on weekends and holidays, or by appointment

  • hours: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Depends on water levels*

Terms:

  • Liability waiver required.

  • $ 20.00 replacement charge for each lost or damaged tube

  • Tubes and accessories must be returned by 6:00 PM on the day of the rental or a LATE CHARGE will apply.

  • No refunds.

  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages on the premises of Danbury General Store is Strictly Prohibited!

  • Please respect the rights of the property owners along the river.  Leave the river the same way you found it and please do not discard trash or trespass on private property.

Directions:

Winston-Salem
"Take Route 52 N to Route 8 N (Germanton exit) - Route 8 N to and then through Germanton where Route 8 N then turns left at the Shell station - take Route 8 N to junction of Routes 8/89 - Left on Route 8/89 to Danbury.
 
Greensboro
Highway 68 N (past airport) to Stokesdale - at stoplight in Stokesdale, make left on Route 158 W - at next stoplight, continue straight ahead, which becomes Route 65 W to Walnut Cove - cross railroad tracks, and then right on Route 311 through Walnut Cove - at stoplight by Food Lion shopping center, continue straight ahead which becomes Highway 89 W to Danbury. 
 
Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill
I-40 W to Piedmont Triad Airport Exit Highway 68 N - then follow directions shown above for Greensboro.
 
Charlotte
Based on location, either take I-85 to Greensboro, or I-77 and I-40 to Winston-Salem, and then follow directions shown above.
 
Martinsville
Highway 58 W to Route 8 S to Danbury - the store is located on the left at intersection of Highways 8/89 and Shepard Mill Road
