CRABTREE FALLS

Getting There:

MIle Post 340 Blue Ridge Parkway
Route 80 North from Marion, NC, then North on the BRPkway
226 North from Marion then South on the BRPkway
South from Spruce Pine on 226 then South on BRPkway

Comments:

Crabtree Falls is one of the most widely photographed waterfalls on the parkway. The hike is nearly one mile down to the point where the South Toe river cascades nearly 100 feet. The hike up and out can seem strenuous if one is not quite prepared. Remember that you are more than 1/2 mile above sea level and air can be thinner, making your hike seem tougher. However, one that you will truly enjoy and long to make over and over again.
